What a great day yesterday was! My two sons Michael and Aaron took me and my daughter-in-law Sara, and of course my grandson Tobias, out for breakfast at Lucia's Restaurant, one of my favorite local breakfast houses. What a joy to just sit and talk about what is going on in our daily lives and enjoy a meal together. My sons had given me a beautiful plant for my garden, a lovely card, and a certificate for a new radio/tape deck for my car system which I ruined one day by leaving a fast foods glass of ice on the dash of the car on a very hot day. Who would of thought that it would melt right through the paper cup and down into my sound system. The radio makes little static crackling sounds periodically. The tape deck hasn't worked since, and I love listening to music or the Sunday sermons from the Sunday before, or motivational tapes while I'm driving.

How Blessed I am to have these two wonderful sons who love me very much, and a precious daughter-in-law and grandson whom I adore. I talk to so many mothers who have tremendously heavy crosses to bear and who don't even know where their children are, or they do know where they are, and wish they didn't.

I have been a single parent for 14 years now. It definitely has not been easy raising two sons alone but God has been good and blessed me with tender, compassionate children who love Him and me. I am proud of who they are as individuals, and thrilled when I observe their deep commitment to others as friends and as true extended family! They both know what it means to love others unconditionally and how to give another respect for his/her own individuality and special uniqueness' without judging them according to their own set of standards.

Each of my boys knows what it means to be there for another person and to not just walk out when it gets tough or difficult to stay. They have a committed love for others that says, "You Are Special and Worthy of taking time out of my daily life for." That is truly a form of Christ-likeness not often seen in this day and age, with our lives so busy and self indulging. And it doesn't matter what the person looks like or what they do for a living, or don't do, for that matter. They both have an accepting, loving care for others that is unconditional. How very Blessed I am!!!
