Michelle, wake up, wake up. It’s snowing outside!” I was still sound asleep when my brother shouted. “Snow? Is it heavy?” I murmured with eyes half - opened. “Definitely. Get up! Hurry.” On hearing what he said, I bounced up excitedly with only an overcoat on and rushed towards the window.

It hadn’t snowed in my hometown for quite a long time let alone such a heavy snow. It did snow outside. I could see the snow falling heavily and the ground was all white because of it snowing all night. I stretched out a hand and felt the snowflakes. It was cold but beautiful. The prospect of a snowball fight excited me, but I didn’t make it, for all my family went to work, leaving me at home alone. Nothing made me excited all day. It was not until night that I went outside again. I couldn’t even believe it. The ground was entirely covered by the thick snow like a blanket had been put on the ground. At that exciting moment, I was wondering what would happen if it kept on snowing and whether I could make a snow man in my small garden where all kinds of flowers were. I hurried to the small garden to see whether it was big enough to hold a snowman. But, what made me disappointed and angry was that my lovely flowers were partly covered up with snow. The place where there used to be colorful flowers, which I was very proud of, then turned into a dull place. Some branches were weighted down. I hurried to tell my mom about what had happened to the flowers. She comforted me, saying: “Don’t worry. They’ll be ok. Just give it time.”

I was willing to believe that it just takes time and than they will be fine. Although I was extremely delighted at the sight of snow, in the end, I was upset and angry for many days. From that moment on, I believed that snow doesn’t always make people happy, but sometimes makes them upset and angry. Everything has two sides. It can be a benefit and at the same time, it can be a killer.
