This year, the snow was really extraordinary. The dancing snowflakes were circling in the air for a very long time. I never thought that such beautiful scenery could become such a great disaster until I realized the troubles and miseries the snow had brought to so many people. Luckily, my entire lifetime I have not had it as hard as those who suffered the disaster of this snow. I got home before the worst of the storm. It was extremely cold this year. Most of the time I would sit beside the stove and surf the Internet without going outside. The remaining days at home everything was as normal as usual. However, the effect of the snow began to show up in this area later. First, the electricity failed from time to time without giving any warning that my computer’s power would suddenly turn off. This annoyed me. Then the water pipes became frozen and wouldn’t supply us with water. What’s worse, the signals were interrupted. The earth was a world of snow, decorated by numerous swirling snowflakes. The electricity was off for several straight days. Because of the snow, I did many things more meaningful than just sitting beside the computer screen. In the daytime, sometimes, I would write and read something; sometimes, I would play games and cards; sometimes, I would go outside and enjoy myself. At night, I occasionally talked with my family members and sometimes listened to the radio to hear the news. I feel sympathy fot the accidents and the people who couldn’t get back home to celebrate the New Year while I relaxed because my uncle’s had come back home safely. My uncle was driving home from Guangzhou during the disaster. He was trapped for 12 hours on the highway of Jiujiang and then he finally got home safely. I could feel my grandparents’ worry until they were told they were all right. They couldn’t sleep the entire night. “You should not come back next year,” demanded grandma. But I know how eager she is to see him and his family. This is true with every mother. Mothers are alike in this way. They want their children safe. Furthermore, we saw that the world was full of love fighting together against the storm, shoulder to shoulder!
