Teaching and lecturing is one of the most enjoyable and
important parts of my life. Since 1985 I have been teaching courses on
the college level and also for approved Department of Real Estate continuing
education courses. I'm teaching Real Estate Finance at Contra Costa College
again this fall semester. It is always a wonderful time with lots of "hands
on" learning for both licensed agents, and the public. The class is designed
for those who want to know how to learn about various financing options
and how to qualify the borrower to get them into a home successfully. We
discuss and work up many examples of various clients situations; credit
problems and clean-up; housing and income-to-debt ratios, and many other
areas of mortgage financing. Time is taken in class, as well as through
many handouts, on how to underwrite according to the varied standards of
acceptable lender guidelines. We have lectures as well as small group participation
called, "Hector Groups." Laughter, cartoons, overheads, and TONS OF FUN,
as well as solid comprehensive learning is achieved in every class. You'll
