| "Bring
all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in mine house,
and test me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open for
you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing, that there
shall not be room enough to receive it." Malachi 3:10
In the early 70's I was a young mother with two small children and a very limited budget! The Lord, through a series of events and lack of money, allowed me to create this process in which I carved up a 30 to 32lb turkey in a raw state and make 19-20 steaks, 2 roasts, kabobs or stew meat, and 16-20 quarts of broth. I used to be able to feed a family of four, three meals a day for about 3 weeks on under $25 - $30, and it never tasted like turkey. The dollars have changed but the process hasn't. In today's economy we are all having to tighten up our purse strings, and many times that means it has to come out in the area of the most important source of our family's health - good nutrition and well-balanced meals. How are we supposed to feed our families a well-balanced meal on a limited budgets without using casseroles, pastas, and ground hamburger over and over? Also, in the days of cholesterol counting and heart trouble, everyone is looking for better, more healthful ways to eat. It is common knowledge that turkey is one of the best meats for us, but so often it is baked whole and we have leftovers again and again and again. With my process, the skin is totally removed which cuts down on the "bad" stuff. God has allowed me this knowledge in "Turkey Magic" to share with you today so that it, in turn, might help you to better stretch you food budget, better feed your family, and give variety to your meals. I personally have found that if I give God His tithes first, whether it be money, time, or groceries, He always does open up the windows of heaven for me. If I give Him my leftovers, as I so often do, there is never any to give. The same goes for our families. It is not the amount of time as much as the quality of our time, not the amount of food piled on the plate, but the quality of the food that counts. Have you ever noticed how it takes much more quantity of starches to fill us up than it does vegetables, lean meats, and grains? Thank
you for joining me in this venture of faith. As you become more adept to
cooking with turkey meat, and start making up your own recipes, I would
appreciate your sharing that knowledge with me so that I might share it
with others.
